The FANHS Museum was established in 2016 to celebrate and showcase the rich and diverse stories of Filipino Americans. Our permanent collection and rotating exhibits provide an evolving experience that captures our proud heritage since Filipinos first arrived on the California coast in the late 1500s.

 

ABOUT THE FANHS MUSEUM

Filipino American history is American history. The FANHS Museum presents educational programs and experiences that preserve, explore, and celebrate the history of Filipinos in the United States. Its purpose is to connect Filipino Americans more closely to their history and to inspire in people of all backgrounds a greater understanding of the diversity of the Filipino American experience.

 

The mission of the FANHS Museum is to enrich American society by educating, enlightening, inspiring, and promoting the appreciation of Filipino American history, art and cultural experiences and contributions through collection, preservation and exhibition.

 

Come visit, explore and learn more about our history and our contributions to our great nation, past and present! We also have a gift shop and provide monthly presentations and workshops. We are located in the historic Newberry Building and currently open to the public on Saturdays and Sundays from 10AM to 5PM, except on major holidays. Special tours on weekdays can be arranged by appointment.
